What Is Microfiber?
Dec 25, 2022
Microfiber is a modern high-tech product in synthetic fiber, with many excellent characteristics that other fibers can not match. Generally, the size (i.e. thickness) of chemical fiber is mostly 1.11-15 denier, and the diameter is about 10-50 microns. The size of microfiber is usually 0.1-0.5 denier, and its diameter is generally less than 5 microns. Some ultra-fine fibers for special purposes can even be as fine as 0.001 denier.
Because the textile made of superfine fiber has a very soft feel, strong adsorption and absorption properties, it can be made into a textile with a very dense structure, which is widely used to produce high-grade textiles with soft suede, such as peach skin, textile suede fabric, etc. Microfiber can also be used to manufacture special work clothes and swimming suits with breathable, water-repellent, waterproof and wind-proof high density tissue, and also can be used to manufacture special textiles such as cleaning cloth, filter cloth and dust cloth with high water absorption and oil absorption. These textiles have good performance and high added value, and are a new type of synthetic fiber textiles vigorously developed at home and abroad.
The fabric woven with superfine fiber is extremely fine, especially soft and smooth, and has unique luster and color. At present, microfiber has been widely used in clothing fabrics, and artificial leather, high-quality knitwear and machine-made products made of microfiber have appeared on the market. Suede-like leather made of superfine fiber has the advantages of dense down, not easy to fall off and soft feel, and its quality is higher than that of real suede.
